Always near the top of the most sold books of all time, The Hobbit is delightful and fun and full of adventure. The adventure asks great questions about moral and spiritual right and wrong. This story is so great and timeless. It has a few scary scenes and much fighting and violence, however it is necessary violence and not to be desired. In the end does some pride and sin creep in and cause violence and trouble, which is all a great lesson teaching the downfall of allowing oneself to be taking in by sin. Much of honor and duty come in the quest and the heroes are heroic! The heart issues and the morality are top notch. Bilbo is headed home in the end and folks ask him why he gave away his share of the treasure, to which he replies, “yes, but I have many friends.” How powerful is the message in such a great story? Top of the List!
